Swami Ramdev
Swami Ramdev is a globally recognized Indian yoga guru, businessman, and proponent of Ayurveda. A disciple of Acharya Shri Baldev Ji and deeply influenced by the teachings of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, he belongs to the spiritual lineage of the Gurukul tradition (specifically the Gurukul at Kalwa). His career is defined by the massive proliferation of Yoga and Pranayama, which he transitioned from secretive ascetic practices to a household phenomenon through televised camps reaching over 85 million viewers. Key milestones include founding the Divya Yoga Mandir Trust in 1995 and the Patanjali Yogpeeth in 2006, alongside co-founding Patanjali Ayurved, one of India's largest FMCG companies with a record turnover exceeding 30,000 crore in recent years. He has conducted thousands of massive yoga shivirs (camps) at iconic venues like Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan and has performed internationally in countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Nepal, and Mauritius. His contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including an honorary doctorate from Siddharth University and the Tarun Kranti Award. Currently, he continues to lead the Patanjali empire and the Bharat Swabhiman Andolan, focusing on social, economic, and health reforms across India.
